Positive Summary of Japanese Society
In an attempt to correct years of anti-Japanese propaganda, this film tries to show that Japan is a beautiful country filled with hard working people who deserve a chance. Lots of generalizations, but it shows a broad slice of life and some great archival footage of rebuilding Nagasaki and nightlife in Ginza. The corny "magic carpet convertable" and imaginary perspectives of Worried Willy and Paradise Pete add a great educational film flavor.
Great side note on the role of Japan in preventing the spread of communism. Around the 23 minute mark is a line of Japanese Rockettes.
